Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) will strengthen its electric taxi fleet with 200 BYD sedans under a new partnership with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility.
The BYD SEAL is designed to offer a range of up to 600 km per charge, ensuring safety and enhanced passenger comfort.
The move will support the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 aspirations and help the DTC transition towards a fully electric fleet by 2040.
"With over 86 per cent of our fleet already environment-friendly - well ahead of the Roads and Transport Authority’s 2027 target to reach 100 per cent - through continued investment in sustainable mobility solutions, we are not only elevating the passenger experience but also actively contributing to Dubai’s vision of a greener, smarter future," highlighted Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of DTC.
Hasan Nergiz, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, said the collaboration aims to "redefine urban mobility by introducing vehicles that reduce carbon emissions and offer passengers a quieter, more comfortable travel experience, paving the way for a cleaner, greener future".
