The Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA) says more than 7,800 businesses have benefited from an initiative waiving fines for late renewal of economic licences.

The three-month initiative, which ended on August 15, provided exemptions worth more than AED 11.6 million to 7,823 commercial and industrial establishments.

ADRA, part of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, says the measure is aimed at supporting businesses and encouraging private-sector growth.

Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, Director-General of ADRA, added that the strong response reflects the authority’s efforts to work closely with the business community and address its needs.

He also highlighted a similar initiative launched last year, which helped businesses update licences that had been expired for three years or more.
