Etihad Airways announces record AED2.6 billion profit for 2025

Etihad Airways has reported a record AED2.6 billion profit for 2025, the strongest financial performance in its history.

The Abu Dhabi carrier’s profit after tax rose 47 per cent year-on-year, with its net profit margin improving to 8.4 per cent. It is more than double the industry average of 3.9 per cent, marking the airline’s fourth consecutive year of profitability.

Its total revenue increased 21 per cent year-on-year to AED30.7 billion, driven by expansion in both passenger and cargo operations. The airline now has an operating fleet of 127 aircrafts, up 29 from the previous year, the largest in Etihad's history.

Passenger numbers have also increased by 21 per cent to AED22.4 million to cement the airline as one of the fastest growing global carriers.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: "2025 has been a defining year for Etihad. These results confirm that our strategy is working – growing sustainably, strengthening our financial position, and continuing to deliver a high-quality experience for our guests.

"With a stronger financial position, a growing fleet and a clear sense of purpose, we are well positioned to continue building on this momentum – giving flight to ambition for our guests, our people and to Abu Dhabi.

"Now we have a plan to invest in the next 10 years, AED80 billion in new aircraft, new product enhancements."

Increasing its network from 94 to 110 destinations, with total landings rising from 90,000 to more than 105,000, Etihad are now focusing on opening new international markets and increasing direct access to Abu Dhabi across Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
