Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have pledged AED 11 billion to fund medical research over the next decade. At a press conference in San Francisco early on Thursday, they said their goal was to “cure, prevent or manage all diseases by the end of the century”. The coupled have already spent AED 2.2 billion on a research facility. Called Biohub, it will unite engineers, computer scientists, biologists and chemists at a single site.
