The UAE has unveiled the "first-of-its-kind" smartphone vending machine.
Launched by Etisalat, in partnership with ADNOC Distribution, the machine will allow customers a five-minute turnaround time to buy from a range of selected handsets and accessories for both Android and iOS.
The first machine, which is part of the pilot project, is open at the ADNOC Distribution service station on Abu Dhabi Corniche.
The customer will need to insert their Emirates ID card, check the personal information displayed on the screen, enter or modify the mobile number, and select the item and the payment method.
Once the information has been verified, the machine will dispense the phone and the receipt.
