Alaska records highest ever temperature

The US state of Alaska has just experienced its hottest ever day on record.

The US Weather Service announced that the mercury at Anchorage airport reached 32 degrees Celsius on Thursday. 

It shattered the previous record, which was 29 degrees Celsius.
