Prime Minister Theresa May has again delayed a parliamentary vote on her Brexit deal in her attempts to win approval for a plan to ease Britain's departure from the European Union.

She promised on Sunday to have a fresh vote on the Brexit deal by 12 March, a mere 17 days before Brexit day.

Speaking as she travelled to an EU-Arab League summit in Egypt, May said "positive" talks with the EU were "still ongoing" and leaving on March 29 was "within our grasp".

"We won't bring a meaningful vote to Parliament this week, but we will ensure that that happens by the 12th of March," she told reporters.
