China reports one new coronavirus case versus 12 a day earlier

China is showing remarkable progress in the fight against COVID-19, with the country reporting one new case for May 1.

Just a day earlier, 12 new cases were recorded.

According to the country's health authority, the new case was imported.

There have been no domestic transmissions, with asymptomatic cases standing at 20 on May 1.

So far, the country has recorded 82,875 new cases. No new deaths were reported on Friday, with the toll at 4,633.
