Hong Kong reports new daily record of COVID-19 cases

Hong Kong has reported 118 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, a new daily record for the metropolitan city. 

The numbers include 111 locally transmitted cases 

Hong Kong has introduced strict social-distancing measures after authorities reported 105 locally transmitted infections on Wednesday 

Authorities extended the working from home period for non-essential civil servants until August 2, while urging the public to continue staying at home as much as possible 

There have been more than 2,000 reported cases and 14 deaths in Hong Kong since January.
