Judge allows Musk’s PAC $1M giveaway to continue

A Pennsylvania judge has ruled that Elon Musk's political action committee, America PAC, can continue its $1 million giveaway to voters in swing states, despite legal challenges.

The giveaway, which has been ongoing until Election Day, was initially thought to be a random lottery, but it has now been revealed that the recipients are selected by the group.

Philadelphia District Attorney Lawrence Krasner had filed a lawsuit, calling the giveaway an illegal lottery, but Judge Angelo Foglietta allowed it to continue.

America PAC’s lawyer confirmed in court that the recipients were not chosen randomly but were pre-determined. The final recipient of the giveaway, scheduled for Tuesday, will be a voter from Michigan, according to the group.

The giveaway has sparked controversy, with critics, including Krasner’s office, alleging that it could violate election laws prohibiting payments for voter registration.

America PAC has maintained that the recipients, who must align with the group’s values, are being selected as spokespeople and sign non-disclosure agreements preventing them from discussing the terms publicly.

Musk, who is heavily involved in campaigning for Republican candidate Donald Trump, did not attend the hearing.
