At least six people have been shot dead by security forces in Myanmar.
It comes after hundreds of people had been detained in the troubled western state of Rakhine during a search for members of a rebel group.
A military spokesman claimed that the shootings occurred after some of the detainees attempted to seize weapons.
However, conflicts accounts of the event leading up to the killings have been reported, while the shooting happened in a restricted area.
