4 million use public transport in Dubai during Eid holidays

Just over four million people used public transport in Dubai during the Eid holidays.

That's according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which said more than a quarter of those passengers boarded Dubai Metro's two lines.

Taxis were the second most popular more of transport, carrying just over 1.3 million riders over the four day holiday.

Meanwhile just shy of 1.1 million riders used public buses.

The RTA says it charted out a comprehensive plan for the movement of public transit means during the Eid holiday, which is always marked by heavy traffic.
