Sharjah's Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) has confiscated 65 sandfish lizards in the Al Bataeh area near Khorfakkan Road in a bid to help preserve them.

Posting an image of the creatures in a container, the EPAA said it had taken possession of the Arabian sand skink after fishing violations were reported during the breeding season.

The authority reaffirmed its efforts to protect wildlife from improper practices and provide the appropriate conditions for the breeding season.
