PCR testing centres in the UAE capital have been warned not to inflate prices.

As per the guidelines from the Department of Health (DOH), prices for regular and urgent testing should be fixed at AED 65.

This cost will include swab collection, testing and reporting of results.

The authorities released this statement after a healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi was found violating the order.

Fines and a termination of service are the penalties for disregarding the directive.

The department further explained that the cost of the PCR test would be covered by the individuals themselves if they don't have any symptoms.

In other cases, the cost would be covered by the government-funded programmes.

A breach in this regulation can be reported via call on 024193845 or by email to Healthsystemfinancing@doh.gov.ae.
