Abu Dhabi to introduce licencing system for places of worship

Non-Muslim places of worship in Abu Dhabi are set to get legal recognition, with authorities planning a new licencing system for them.

The regulations are being drawn up by the Department of Community Development for churches, temples and gurudwaras.

The aim is to assist the religious bodies in their operations and with government norms. 

Officials are holding meetings with religious leaders and priests to explain the new guidelines.
