Abu Dhabi updates quarantine rules for select unvaccinated arrivals

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has updated travel procedures for UAE citizens and residents as well as visitors entering the capital from abroad.

This comes into effect from Sunday, August 15th 2021.

Vaccinated travellers arriving into Abu Dhabi from green list destinations do not need to quarantine, but must take a PCR test on arrival and another on day six.

When arriving from other destinations, they will need to quarantine for seven days, and should take a PCR test on arrival and another on day six.

The protocol applies to fully vaccinated UAE citizens and residents as well as visitors as documented on the Al Hosn App.

Unvaccinated citizens, residents and visitors arriving into Abu Dhabi from green list destinations are still not required to quarantine, but must take a PCR test on arrival and take a PCR test on days six and nine. 

Previously it PCR testing for this category was requested for days six and twelve. 

When arriving from other destinations not on Abu Dhabi's green list, they must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for ten days and take another PCR test on day nine.

The quarantine time was previously twelve days, while PCR testing was required on day eleven for this category.
