Adventure tourism takes centre stage in Fujairah

Fujairah is stepping up efforts to become a global tourism hotspot, with a new international event highlighting its adventure and ecotourism potential.

The first Fujairah International Adventure Tourism Conference will run from April 30 to May 2, hosted by the Fujairah Adventure Centre in collaboration with the UN World Tourism Organisation.

The conference will bring together global experts in tourism, sustainability and adventure sports, with workshops, panel discussions and networking opportunities focused on innovation and responsible travel.

Amr Zein Eddin, Director of the Fujairah Adventure Centre says the event supports the emirate’s strategy to promote its natural attractions and drive sustainable tourism, under the leadership of Fujairah Ruler His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, and Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi.

Key themes of the conference include sustainable tourism development, innovation in adventure tourism, and the preservation of natural resources.

Participants will also explore local, regional and global challenges and opportunities in the sector.
