Abu Dhabi's Al Bateen Executive Airport will be closed for more than two months for runway upgrades.

The expansion work, which runs until July 20 will allow the airport to handle larger aircraft.

Only helicopters will be permitted to use the facility during the refurbishment period.

The airport, which mainly handles private jets, is expected to resume full service on July 21.
