The Arab League has condemned the attack on the residence of the Head of the UAE Mission in Khartoum, stressing the need to adhere to international charters.
In a statement, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, denounced any targeting of diplomatic buildings and embassy personnel, emphasising adherence to international charters and agreements.
The leader also stressed the need for coordinated international and regional efforts to halt the war and bloodshed in Sudan, calling for action to preserve Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its institutions.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs blamed the attack on the Sudanese Armed Forces, and submitted a complaint to League of Arab States, the African Union and the United Nations, calling it a "flagrant violation of the fundamental principle of the inviolability of diplomatic premises."
Sudan’s military government has refuted accusations from the UAE. “The one that carries out these heinous and cowardly actions is the terrorist, rebel militia (RSF)… supported in committing all this by countries known to the world,” the Sudanese military said.
