Abu Dhabi has made window tinting mandatory for buses of all sizes licensed within the emirate.

This regulation applies to both private and public buses.

A maximum of 30 per cent window tinting is permitted, with the exception of the windscreen to ensure optimal driver visibility.

The decision was formally approved by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi Mobility, in collaboration with relevant authorities.

Abu Dhabi Mobility emphasised the role of window tinting in ensuring passenger comfort by safeguarding them from UV rays, reducing in-vehicle temperature and enhancing the overall travel experience.
