India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled several examinations scheduled for Class 10 students in March across the United Arab Emirates and Middle East region.

Citing the regional developments involving Iran, the board informed Principals of schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE of the decision to cancel exams for Class 10 students in the Middle East region scheduled to take place between March 7 and March 11.

Examinations scheduled for March 2, March 5, and March 6, which were earlier postponed, have also been cancelled. The mode of result declaration for Class 10 students in the region will be notified separately.

This comes after CBSE had previously postponed exams scheduled for Class 10 and 12 students on Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6, in the UAE and the Middle East due to the "ongoing regional developments".

The examination scheduled for Saturday, March 7, for Class 12 students has also been postponed, and the revised dates will be announced later.

After reviewing the situation on Saturday, the board will issue further directives regarding the Class 12 examinations scheduled for Monday, March 9 onwards.

All the Class 12 students have been advised to remain in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements carefully.
