Clean UAE Campaign marks 25 years of environmental action

The Emirates Environmental Group has launched the 25th cycle of the Clean UAE Campaign, marking 25 years of nationwide environmental action and volunteerism.

The Silver Jubilee edition will take place across all seven emirates, bringing together thousands of volunteers from government, businesses, schools and universities, diplomatic missions, community organisations and families.

The campaign begins in Dubai on December 5, followed by Sharjah on December 7, Fujairah on December 9, Ajman on December 10, Umm Al Quwain on December 12, Ras Al Khaimah on December 14, and Abu Dhabi on December 15, 2026.

The Clean UAE Campaign has been under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and, since 2022, has been recognised and approved by the UAE Cabinet as one of the country's National Community Action Campaigns.

Since 2007, the initiative has mobilised more than 1.14 million volunteers across the UAE.

Together, they have removed more than 1.75 million kg of waste from beaches, deserts, wadis, mangroves, parks and other public spaces, while helping clean and restore around 1,288 square kilometres of land.

The campaign's recycling and waste-collection efforts have also helped mitigate more than 186,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Speaking at the launch, Emirates Environmental Group Co-Founder and Chairperson Dr. Habiba Al Mar'ashi said the campaign has grown into a national movement, demonstrating the power of communities, businesses, government bodies and educational institutions working together.

She called on individuals and organisations across the UAE to take part in the Silver Jubilee edition and help build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable country.

The Emirates Environmental Group is also inviting businesses to become campaign partners, supporting environmental action while strengthening their sustainability and corporate social responsibility commitments.
