Construction companies to build housing facilities for workers at sites

WAM

Construction companies across the UAE can now build housing facilities for workers at their construction sites.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the step aims to ensure that the necessary social distance is kept between workers in housing areas to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

The ministry has clarified that this will help avoid putting workers at risk of contracting the virus while ensuring that work on construction and infrastructure projects continues.

Officials have also revealed that campaigns will be launched to help monitor workers accommodation in order to ensure that health and safety requirements are met.
