The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is set to treat COVID-19 patients with blood plasma.
Officials have confirmed that the method will be implemented during the course of this week to treat critical cases.
This comes just days after Dr Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), revealed that plasma therapy is one of the methods helping coronavirus patients recover at a quicker rate.
The DHA says it has introduced the protocol for convalescent plasma therapy at all its hospitals and other private hospitals in Dubai.
It has also clarified that this serves as a step towards treating and preventing the spread of the virus.
