A documentary on Pope Francis' historic three-day visit to Abu Dhabi earlier this year is set to be aired on Thursday.

The National Geographic film documents the Catholic leader's first-ever trip to the Gulf region.

The Peace Visit features interviews with local citizens and government representatives on the visit and its significance to the UAE.

The three-part documentary will premiere at 8:00 pm UAE time on Thursday.

Pope Francis held a public Mass at Abu Dhabi's Zayed Sports City stadium in February.

He also met with the UAE's leaders and Dr. Ahmad Al Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif.
