DP World has donated AED367,250 to the Lebanese Red Cross to support the charitable organization in its life-saving efforts after an explosion at Beirut Port rocked the city.

"Our sympathy and thoughts are with the people of Lebanon,” said Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World.

The donation was made to aid the hundreds of Lebanese Red Cross Emergency medical workers, who have been treating the injured, transporting them to hospitals and searching for survivors through the rubble.

At least 135 people have died and more than 5,000 others were injured in the incident

Lebanon's Cabinet has declared a two-week state of emergency.

“The leadership and the people of the UAE stand by the Lebanese people and offer our support in this ordeal. We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," added Bin Sulayem.
