Traffic diversions are coming into place on Friday near Dubai’s Discovery Gardens at the intersection of Ibn Battuta Street.

The detours will be there for the next three months for carrying out work related to Dubai Metro’s Route 2020 project.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will close the Discovery Gardens junction and transform it into an entry and exit point from the side road.

It will also turn Ibn Battuta Street into a one-way road in the direction of Al Asayel Street.

Additional entry and exit points will be provided to serve the community.

According to a statement from the RTA, residents can use Nakheel Towers Street or Qarn Al Sabkha Street via Al Asayel Street to access their community, Sheikh Zayed Road or any other locations.

Meanwhile, motorists heading towards Sheikh Zayed Road are urged to check the RTA’s social media channels for updates, and watch out for the traffic signs in the area.
