Driver arrested within 5 hours of fatal hit-and-run in Sharjah

It took the Sharjah Police under five hours to zero in on a driver, who fled the scene after a hit-and-run incident in the Emirate on Sunday.

The 50-year-old suspect fled the scene after he fatally injured a person on Al-Taawab Street at around 3:00 pm. 

Police launched an intense search as soon as they were alerted about the incident, and arrested the suspect within five hours. 

He confessed to the crime and admitted to fleeing the scene because he felt "fear and confusion".
