An unusual traffic accident took place on Al Wasl Street in Dubai, after a driver accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, sending her car crashing into a retail store.

Dubai Police said the incident was reported to their Command and Control Centre and traffic patrols were quickly dispatched.

According to Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, initial investigations revealed the female driver lost control due to sudden confusion behind the wheel.

No injuries were reported and the damage was limited to the vehicle and storefront.

Brigadier bin Suwaidan is urging motorists to stay alert and focused while driving, stressing the importance of proper seating and pedal positioning.
