Dubai all set for NYE celebrations

The roads around Downtown Dubai have been closed ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Al Asayel Street, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street, Financial Centre Road's lower deck, Al Mustaqbal Street and Al Sukook Street are the areas affected.

A comprehensive traffic management plan is in place, while 170 shuttle buses have been deployed, connecting various metro stations and parking locations.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has set up a field hospital and two medical emergency centres at Downtown Dubai, with 49 doctors, nurses and supervisors on site to ensure the health and safety of everyone.

Dubai Ambulance have also stationed paramedics on site.

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, reviewed the final preparations just hours before the mega event.

Dubai Police have urged the public to contact 901 for non-emergencies and 999 for emergencies.

Firework displays have been lined up at 29 places across the emirate to ensure the celebrations are held safely without overcrowding.

Dubai Civil Defence said it has fully secured the key locations with a team comprising 679 personnel and 84 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has teams working from the Enterprise Command & Control Centre (EC3) and on ground to monitor traffic and other preparations.
