Dubai motorists with bike racks will now need to attach an additional number plate to the back of the car.

Taking to their official social media handle, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) explained that the new initiative will help "avoid blocking the visibility of the original number plate".

The authority added that details on how to apply for the new number plate will be released soon.

Blocking the number plates is a traffic violation, which will lead to AED 400 in fines.
