Dubai Humanitarian boosts relief efforts in Nepal

Dubai Humanitarian has sent around 74 tonnes of emergency aid to Nepal to support communities recovering from devastating floods and landslides.

The shipment arrived in Kathmandu aboard an Emirates SkyCargo Boeing 777 freighter from Dubai World Central.

It was dispatched following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The relief supplies include tents and shelter materials, medicines, hygiene kits and winter items.

They come from pre-positioned stocks held by UNICEF, the World Food Programme’s UN Humanitarian Response Depot, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The operation highlights Dubai’s role as a global hub for humanitarian logistics, allowing emergency supplies to be moved quickly to communities in need.

The airlift’s transportation cost was covered through the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund (GHIF), reflecting Dubai Humanitarian's continued commitment to establishing sustainable humanitarian response mechanisms, removing logistical and financial barriers.
