Dubai has been ranked the fifth best city in the world in a global report.

Resonance Consultancy's listing ranks the world’s best cities with populations of more than a million.

It uses a combination of statistical performance and qualitative evaluations by locals and visitors in 24 areas grouped into six core categories.

Dubai is ranked ahead of the likes of Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles and Barcelona.

London topped the list, followed by Paris, New York and Moscow.

Bloomberg calls Resonance Consultancy’s Best Cities ranking "the most comprehensive study of its kind; it identifies cities that are most desirable for locals, visitors, and business people alike, rather than simply looking at livability or tourism appeal."
