Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine at the Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) facilities can now be booked through WhatsApp.

To access the 24|7 free service, users will have to add 800 342 to their contacts and send 'Hi'.

Applicants will also have to submit their Medical Record Number (MRN).

The AI-enabled system will provide the earliest appointment options in the selected vaccination centre.

Users will then receive a confirmation message with the name of the centre, date and timing of their appointment.

The automated chatbot application was initially developed to raise awareness among the public and provide them with accurate information about COVID-19 as well as other DHA services.

It has already helped address more than 150,000 COVID-19 queries.
