Dubai Police have urged road users to exercise caution and adhere to safety rules during rainy and unstable weather conditions.

Brigadier Turki Abdurrahman bin Faris, Acting Director of the General Department of Operations, said motorists should always be aware of changing weather conditions, especially during the winter months when visibility levels tend to drop.

“Motorists are encouraged to take time before their journey to review weather forecasts and reports to avoid traffic accidents,” he added.

Brig. bin Faris also emphasised the importance of keeping a safe distance between cars, adjusting the speed to the weather conditions, using low-beam lights and indicating when changing lanes.

Since Monday, the Dubai Police Command & Control Centre has received 15,057 calls, of which 13,108 were made to the force’s emergency hotline (999) and the remaining 1,959 calls were handled by the non-emergency line 901.
