A restaurant in Dubai has been shut down for not complying with the precautionary measures related to COVID-19, while a gym has been fined for a similar offence.
The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector at Dubai Economy took action against the restaurant in Satwa for violating physical distancing guidelines and causing congestion after it distributed free meals.
In a separate incident, Dubai Economy, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, imposed a fine on a fitness centre, for not adhering to physical distancing, especially at their reception, and employees’ lack of commitment to wearing masks.
Authorities are continuing to carry out daily inspections in retail outlets, open markets and commercial centres across Dubai.
As many as 578 stores were found complying with the regulations during the latest round of field visits on Thursday.
