One child aged under 14 is permitted to accompany two adult family members in Dubai's taxis, following an update from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

In a post on social media, the RTA stated that the passengers can travel together in the back of the car, leaving the front seat next to the driver empty, in line with COVID-19 precautionary measures.

It added that there has been no change to the policy for three-row family taxi vehicles or vans.

They are only allowed to carry a maximum of four passengers until further notice.
