Campuses of international colleges and universities in Dubai will be ranked on a scale of one to five stars.

They'll be given a rating based on eight quality indicators, including teaching, research and infrastructure.

It'll also give students something else to look at when they're choosing a university.

The Dubai Executive Council says the move will make the emirate's education sector more competitive.

Here are the eight quality indicators:

  • Teaching
  • Employability
  • Research
  • Internationalisation
  • Facilities
  • Overall Programme Strength
  • Well-being
  • Social Responsibility and Inclusiveness
