Dubai woman wins gold for using public transport

A 54-year old housemaid in Dubai has won a 50gm gold bar for regularly using public transportation. Shanti Robin, who has worked as a caretaker for 22 years, was one of the 30 winners of the Roads and Transport Authority’s Public Transport Day campaign. She collected several points on her Nol card by using the Dubai Metro and buses to travel to different parts of the emirate. The drive aims to encourage the public to use public transport more frequently and coincides with RTA’s 10th anniversary.
