Dubai parking operator Parkin has introduced on-street smart parking camera systems at three key locations in the city.
More than 500 curb and pole cameras are being installed in Trade Centre One, Burj Khalifa and Al Corniche, with the curb-side technology a first in the region.
Parkin has also deployed 200 parking lot cameras using artificial intelligence to capture vehicle images and automatically read number plates to detect entry and exit times, calculate parking fees, enable automatic payment and also identify parking violations.
All the cameras are solar powered.
Parkin said the rollout aims to deliver real-time occupancy tracking, which will reduce congestion associated with searching for parking, and support more efficient parking management.
Both systems will be fully integrated with the Parkin App, enabling auto-payment through Parkin Wallet and providing customers with a seamless and convenient parking experience.
