Education is key UAE priority: Sheikh Mansour

WAM

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has stressed the advancement of education is one of the UAE's main priorities.

Education has always been a key foundation of national development, he added, noting that the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan prioritised the Emirati education system.

"The UAE’s education system is about to enter its golden era, which will be an innovative period, due to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose wise vision will be the roadmap for national excellence, and will increase the competitiveness of future generations to meet the demands of the labour market, in line with the agenda of the Year of the 50th," he said.

His Highness was speaking in his role as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education during a ceremony held by the award to honour 35 winners (18 from UAE and 17 from Arab countries) of its 15th edition, which was held in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, with the attendance of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, on behalf of Sheikh Mansour.

Sheikh Mansour then lauded the award’s leading role in promoting the culture of excellence in education, both locally and regionally.
