A special celebration to entertain nearly 150 orphans and children with cancer was organised by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), in Latakia Syria, on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

This event, organised as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2 and held in Orange Mall in Latakia Governorate, was conducted in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent as part of the UAE's ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts for those affected by the earthquake that hit Syria in February.

Mohammed Al Kaabi, Head of the ERC’s delegation in Syria, said the event was implemented under the framework of the UAE’s continued initiatives to provide moral and psychological support.

Ghiath Sofi, President of the Al-Bashaer Charity Association, commended the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives to support the Syrian people, while Dr. Khaled Shoman, Head of the Readiness Department at Farah Association for Supporting Children with Cancer, highlighted the cancer patients' happiness during the celebrations.
