Palm Jumeirah residents may face some delays driving in and out of the area from Wednesday, June 9.

According to Nakheel Community Management, roadworks by Dubai Municipality began at midnight on Tuesday on the Palm Jumeirah exit road between Marina Residences and Nakheel Mall.

The statement clarified that work is expected to be completed within 48 hours, however, services will not be interrupted during this time.

Motorists have been advised to "allow extra time for journeys, follow the diversions in place and drive safely."

Meanwhile, residents and visitors can also use The Palm Monorail for free until the roadworks are completed.

In a tweet, the Roads and Transport Authority explained that this is "due to urgent underground repair work on service line."
