Fake cleaning products worth AED 2 million seized in Ajman

WAM

Counterfeit cleaning materials worth AED 2 million have been seized from a factory in Ajman’s industrial zone.

Around 700,000 filled and empty packs, as well as production machines, were confiscated during inspections carried out by the emirate's Department of Economic Development (DED-Ajman).

The products belonged to various international brands.

The factory has been fined and shut down, while further legal proceedings have also been carried out.

"DED-Ajman spares no effort to combat commercial fraud through its regular inspection campaigns that aim to curb practices which cause damage to investors and brand holders and pose risks to consumers," said Hassan Ali Al Shehhi, director of the authority's anti-commercial fraud department.
