Father and son drown in Ras Al Khaimah

A father and son died after drowning in a pit filled with rainwater in Ras Al Khaimah's Wadi Shahah on Wednesday.

According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, the 39-year-old father had tried to rescue his 13-year-old son who fell into a hole filled with water following days of heavy rain in the emirate.

Marine rescue personnel rushed to the site after being alerted to the incident but neither of them could be saved.

The bodies of the victims were recovered and later transferred to a hospital in the emirate.
