Sharjah Customs foiled five attempts to smuggle over 142 kg of drugs into the country during December, 2022.

Customs inspectors at Khalid Port seized over 500,000 Captagon pills in addition to 78 rolls and two boxes of hashish, which were hidden inside truck refrigerators.

Salem Abdullah Al Zomor, Director of Khalid Port Customs Centre, said Sharjah Customs has a sophisticated system in place to prevent such smuggling attempts.

He added that the vigilance of customs inspectors along with their access to modern techniques and equipment play a major role in thwarting smugglers.
