Elderly get free health care at University Hospital, reiterates Sharjah Ruler

WAM

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has reiterated that the elderly are offered free health care at the University Hospital.

The Sharjah Ruler's orders came in an intervention via the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority’s Direct Line after he was informed about the woes of a citizen struggling to pay hospital bills despite having health insurance.

Dr Sultan said the elderly can avail of free integrated health care at the hospital, with special treatment from their arrival until their discharge.

He ordered the cancellation of Umm Khalid's insurance with Al Buhairah Insurance Company and directed them to move her file to the University Hospital.

The hospital includes a "well-experienced medical team from South Korea specialising in joint aspiration and other technical treatments that are not found in many hospitals".
