Middle East can 'rise from the rubble of crises', says Gargash

The diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, Anwar Gargash, said the Middle East has an opportunity to "turn a new page" and become a prosperous region.

"Today, we have a real opportunity to rise from the rubble of crises, wars and ideological illusions toward a brighter future through dialogue, coexistence and cooperation," Gargash said on social media platform X.

"Just as East Asian countries have successfully risen to the challenge of development, we too can turn a new page. It's time to give this region the hope and advanced position it deserves in the world," he added.

The statement comes after the region was spun into chaos when Israel attacked Iran last month, bringing the two rivals face-to-face after decades of discord. Israel and Iran agreed to a ceasefire after 12 days of attacks.
