Gargash, UN envoy discuss Syrian crisis

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, discussed the latest developments related to the Syrian crisis in a meeting with Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Syria, Geir O. Pedersen, on Tuesday.

It focused on the diplomatic efforts exerted by the international community and the UN to reach a political solution to the crisis and end the suffering of civilians.

Gargash reaffirmed the UAE's support for the efforts of the UN, stressing that a political solution is the only solution to reach a settlement that preserves Syria's stability, unity and security.

He pointed out that in light of the circumstances and complexities that the region is going through, it is necessary to continue working and intensifying efforts to achieve progress in the political track in Syria.

Gargash added that all efforts must be combined to come up with realistic solutions to ensure a way out of the state of instability and prepare the conditions for reconstruction and development.

For his part, the UN envoy reviewed the latest developments and efforts made by the UN to resolve the Syrian crisis.
