GCC to spend AED 460bn on construction projects in 2016

Mega-events like Dubai’s World Expo 2020 are set to push construction spending in the GCC to over AED 460 billion next year. That’s an increase of 11%, and a record-breaking number. Experts from investment bank Alpen Capital say the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, along with big projects like new skyscrapers, stadia, airports and museums are pushing the need for complex construction software. Their report comes as The Big Five building trade show opens in Dubai this week.
